GPS units can be pretty simple to extremely complicated...Most GPS experts will tell you to buy the GPS recievers which provides you with the basic functions that you usually might need for your situation...GPS units become increasingly complicated as you add functions and most advanced functions may be rarely used for backcountry navigation...not to mention the more complicated , the more costly they are!!!
