FIND OUT ALL ABOUT SNOWBOARD BOOTS HERE !

NOW UPDATED FOR THE 2011/2012 SEASON !

10/23/2011- Saw Snow on the Mountains a Few Hours from the Home Base last weekend!
Won't be long until it's snowing here too! Welcome to the New Winter Season!

FIND OUT everything about snowboard boots you will ever need to know quickly and easily!
First thing you need to know is that your boots gotta fit and they gotta fit really well. You might spend over 8 hours a day in them and they better be as comfortable as any other shoes or boots you wear everyday... Remember too that your snowboard boots also need to keep your feet warm
and if they dont fit really good, they rarely will keep your feet warm too...
I am gonna SAY IT AGAIN ...
So you get the message LOUD and CLEAR........
The MOST important thing is a GOOD FIT...

If you don't have a good fit your feet will get sore and those snowboard boots will cause you a lot of painful and chilled hassles and expensive hassles at that!
Remember this advice and repeat it to yourself again...!!!
GOOD FIT...GOOD FIT...REALLY GOOD FIT!!!

Ok you got it...Your bindings are secondary to your snowboard boots! They are ONLY there to hold you tightly onto your board and allow you to control the board using your feet which are encased in those real good fitting boots...
Jump on over to the snowboard bindings page to learn about bindings and check out all the bindings on the market! Then jump back to this page and read more about snowboarding boots...

SNOWBOARD BINDINGS PAGE

There are lots of real good snowboard boots and binding set-ups on the market these days and lots of cheap junk ones...Right now I am riding in a pair of Expensive BURTON SNOWBOARD BOOTS...But I have used Silence, FLOW, VANS and Brand X...The Brand X snowboard boots sucked...Hey Brand X is ficticious. I made it up cause I ain't gonna TALK TRASH and name names....But they were under $50 and I thought Boy am I smart I saved a whole bunch of money... WRONG...
I paid LATER with sore and cold feet...
So dont ever buy any snowboarding boots priced under $50.00...never ever...

YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS ONE
"I got what I paid for and I paid for what I got!"

FOUR GENERAL TYPES OF SNOWBOARD BOOTS

SOFT BOOTS
The soft snowboard boots are the most popular...They tend to be used by freestyle riders and beginners although they can be used for alot of different styles of riding...

STIFF BOOTS
Next type are the stiff snowboard boots. These boots tend to be used by freeriders and backcountry riders, but these boots also can be used with some types of step-in bindings...

STEP-IN BOOTS
Third type are the step-in snowboard boots. These snowboarding boots can be soft or stiff depending on the binding and always have a bar, plate, notch etc, some way to attach to the step in binding...The downside to these type of boots and bindings is that they SEEM to have less feeling of control...The best step in boots and bindings I have tried that I didn't have that MUSHY control feeling were the Burton Moto SI step ins, because they attach at four points on the sides of the boots...

FREECARVE/RACING BOOTS
Last on the list are the freecarve/racing boots. These boots resemble ski boots in many ways and provide support and leverage needed for high speed carving and turning with the freecarve/racing snowboards...

HERE IS A JEWEL FOR YOU WORTH MORE THAN GOLD
If you got killer boots and a cheap snowboard and bindings...
you are gonna be able to shred way better....
than if you got the killer board and bindings and cheap boots...
Because snowboarders with sore or cold feet wearing
BRAND X SNOWBOARD BOOTS CANNOT... DO NOT ...AND NEVER WILL SHRED!!!

Again my advice is don't buy the most inexpensive boots. Find snowboard boots that are upper end price wise or better and spend as much as you can budget towards your boots and go with cheaper bindings and snowboard.

SNOWBOARD BOOT LACING SYSTEMS

The last couple years saw the introduction of the BOA lacing system for boots using stainless steel wires and large circumference lacing points and a easy to use lace tightening wheel...My stepdaughter just got a pair of Forum snowboard boots with the BOA system, they work real well especially for young kids...
They are easy to use and strong,it allows the boots to be evenly tightened...
You will see lots more boots with this system in the near future...
If you got questions about the BOA lacing system, check out their website
BOA TECHNOLOGY They explain all about their system and why it is TIGHT... They don't make their own boots, instead they offer their system to the top snowboarding boots manufacturers and they only concentrate on their core product...Like I said earlier...You will see alot more boots using this system in the coming years...

WELL... BURTON COULDN'T OR WOULDNT use the BOA system, but the year before last they came out with a
Lacing System that also looks like a winner for ease of use and allows some tuning to the upper and lower parts of your snowboard boots... It's called the Speed Zone lacing system. Speed Zone lacing provides good tightening customization because the upper and lower laces can be adjusted independently.

UPDATE 10/2011 Not much has happened in the last few years in snowboard boot design except for improved cam locks systems for the zone laced systems !

SNOWBOARD LACES...The recent introduction of non stretch snowboard laces has greatly improved snowboarding boots performance...These laces feature a non stretch core with a woven outer layer which stretch very little, even when they get wet !
They are a vast improvement over the older traditional style braided laces which stretch over time and stretch even more if they get wet, which means you don't have to re-adjust your boot lacings throughout the day.
Hot Tip !
If you buy boots that don't have them, buy some of these laces and swap them out... If you are currently riding with older boots, swap out the old laces ! They are well worth the added small investment ...
This seemly small detail will make a BIG difference in your riding !

WHERE TO BUY GOOD SNOWBOARD BOOTS

Now I wanna hook you up with the best snowboarding boots you can afford...
So lets look at some places that got the goods you need...When it comes to selection the first place to check out is USOUTDOOR.com's snowboard shop! They got almost a hundred different snowboarding boots and they are easy to shop as you can shop by manufacturer or by type...My picks in snowboard boots are BURTONS, K2 and Forum...One of the reasons you should check out the K2 and Forum snowboard boots is they are using the BOA lacing system...Other snowboarding boots they carry are the DC, Northwave, Salomon and Thirty two snowboard boot. After you see their snowboard boots, check out the step-in systems and the bindings they carry too...
Don't forget to check out their USOUTDOOR.com gear on Sale section too, You might find a killer deal there if you check back there alot!!!...

The other place with tons of selection and real cool prices is at
The-House.com The-House.com has real low prices on snowboard boots, but take my advice people and buy the best you can afford...Again any of the snowboard boots with the BOA system are my top picks for easy in and outs...They carry a full selection of snowboard boots by Vans, Airwalk, Nitro, K2, M3 , Evol and more...They also carry step in snowboard boots by VANS and Switch....Don't forget to check the HOUSE brand boots...These guys got over 20 years in the BIZ and they would not put their name on boots that don't get good reviews from "THE HOUSE" riders.. Again when you FINALLY get done checking the boots out hit the section on bindings too and check em out...
