IF YOU HAVE LOTS OF EXTRA GEAR AND TRAVEL ALOT...
Snowboarding travel, gear and boot bags will be absolutely necessary additions to your snowboard accessory needs...One very important thing to think about is if you travel by air frequently are the increasingly expensive and restrictive airline regulations...
CURRENT USA TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
If you can put most of your gear including your boots in your snowboard travel bags and still weigh under 50 lbs, that is a good way to go...Its important to weigh your snowboard travel bags once it is packed with your gear and always pack it the same with the same stuff...
If you are under 50 lbs, you can check in another bag up to 50 MORE lbs for a total of 100 lbs...
If either bag weighs more than 50 lbs,up to 70 lbs, be prepared to pay some kind of extra fee which can vary by airline from minor cost to very very expensive
YOU DO NOT WANT ANY OF YOUR BAGS TO WEIGH OVER 70 lbs!!!
The airlines in the USA will not accept ANY bags, no exceptions even snowboard travel bags over 70 lbs now and they will give you two options only... repack the bag to weigh under 70 lbs OR you gotta send it by air cargo...a really bad deal believe me I been there once...never again...
What happens is you gotta take your snowboard travel bags to the air cargo terminal office on the other side of the airport, PROBABLY miss your plane, PAY a shitload of money....AND...your snowboard travel bags will arrive 2-3 days after you do, PLUS then you gotta go pick it up...
MY ADVICE IS ...WEIGH YOUR SNOWBOARD TRAVEL BAGS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT!!!
If you do not travel very frequently by air, then a smaller snowboard travel bag and a larger gear bag may be a better combination...I tend to favor combination snowboard travel bags with separate boot/gear compartments instead of separate bags for snowboard boots and other gear...
SNOWBOARD BOOTS tend to be bulky and difficult to carry and a snowboard boot bag makes good sense if they do not fit well into your existing snowboard bag...If I put my snowboard boots into my snowboard travel bag it can be pretty heavy and hard to carry, but I only have to deal with one bag...A snowboard boot bag is good if you don't use snowboard travel bags or if you have a snowboard sleeve...Most of these bags are pretty simple and inexpensive...They get more expensive as you add more features, so think about exactly what you need to carry and how often...
SNOWBOARD TRAVEL GEAR AND BOOT BAG FEATURES
All snowboard travel bags should have large sturdy handles and shoulder straps to make it easy to carry... Some snowboard travel bags have backpack type straps if the design is suited for that...
Many of the best quality snowboard boot and gear bags have sturdy wheels and extendable handles which make them easy to move around...There should be lots of separate compartments to keep damp gear separated from the dry stuff... Lots of Pockets are also a desirable feature of these bags...
The best snowboard travel bags have very solid reinforced corners if they are a luggage style design or are made from very thick and tough nylon or cordura if they are a duffelstyle gear bag...There are hundreds of different designs and styles on the market today, so because there are so many, it is difficult to pick out exactly what you REALLY need...
Again my advice is to check out what is available and make a list of features you NEED and want and the snowboard travel bags that have them...
Then decide if you need a snowboard gear and snowboard boot bag too...Then compare prices...By that time you should be able to easily decide which snowboard travel bags, gear bags and boot bags are right for you...
WHERE TO BUY SNOWBOARDING TRAVEL BAGS

A good place to start is Altrec.com They have a very good selection of lots of different types of snowboard travel bags, duffel and gear and boot bags.The ones to mention are the High Sierra wheeled 30 in. duffel bag.You can usually wheel it, but if you have to wheel another gear bag ,hard case or snowboard bag it comes in handy to be able to wear it as a backpack...
If you have ever tried to wheel two large heavy bags you know what I mean.It ain't easy...

One more cool bag to check is the Select Sportsbags wheeled gear bag...In duffels see North Face and the B A D bags...But dont forget to go through Altrecs whole inventory to make sure you haven't missed something.I am only showing the ones I think are the best of the bunch...

They ALSO have dry bags, which means your stuff stays dry if everything else is wet, these are usually used for rafting or boating trips , but a small dry bag can come in handy if you plan a long trip and maybe might run into wet weather or wet terrain...Look in the dry bags section for these...

They have so many different kinds and brands its hard to display them all, so I picked from the bunch the best I could find...Still it's a good idea to check out all their travel type bags and then decide what looks good to you...They have got alot of the Eagle Creek and a few Osprey travel packs, so I showed those first...
Now you can see most of the rolling gear bags by all the familiar big names in snowboarding and outdoor gear...
Dakine makes some of the best designed and best quality snowboard travel bags on the market, believe me as I have used Dakine bags for snowboarding and windsurfing travels for many years...

These guys are new on my list. I was turned on to this shop by a friend of mine who lives in Vancouver, but travels down south alot...He buys stuff here and then hauls it up to BC and sometimes to Japan...So he said they got phat gear and lots of it...
So lets check out Boardtactics.com - Your online source for snowboarding gear. Look in the snowboard/travel/duffle bags or wheeled luggage sections for duffles by Burton, Dakine, Patagonia and more...In wheeled luggage section they have a good selection of Burton, Dakine and Ogio and more...
Now heres the kicker...Boardtactics.com boardshop gear. has a killer women's section... look in the Women-Packs/bags-travel bags section for some real sweet bags by Dakine and Roxy...My better half said she wants the Dakine Pink sakura for x-mas hint hint....yes... ya...yup... ok...So check out all the cool womens gear they got just for you...They are a way progressive shop and I feel proud to spread their cool vibe to you...
So now lets move on to  fogdog.com snowboard shop/bags and packs where you can find a few travel bags by Ogio, High Sierra, a sweet looking bag by Demon and one Samsonite bag...fogdog.com also has gasp !!! travel bags by the US ski team I didn't mention those so do not be surprized to see them there too...
Here is another good solid online store to check into especially if you live in the Northeast USA as you can get fast delivery straight to your crib...Paragon.com has lots of different types of snowboard travel bags, wheeled gear bags in stock from The NorthFace, Patagonia, Eagle Creek and JansSport in the snowboarding-gear bags section and in the travel/luggage-wheeled sections, but to tell you the truth ,I felt the prices are a bit high...
Ok one item did catch my attention and I felt good enough about it to recommend it to you. It is the MountainSmith Modular haulers with cubes, good product! very good price...You can find these in the travel/luggage-accessories section.The MountainSmith haulers would be good for road trips...
Paragon.com also has a good selection of duffels under the Backpacks and Bags category and camera bags too...So check out everything they have, but I would continue to shop and wait until you have seen everything thats out there before you slap down your cash...

I think special mention for the ladies are the ladies specific travel packs by Eagle Creek, Osprey and REI...They have a full line up of duffels by NorthFace, Eagle Creek, Black Diamond, but it's a good idea to also check out the Outdoor Products line of duffels at reasonable prices... One more good product that I felt rates special mention is the PacSafe Security System in the Travel accessories section. It gets my HOT PRODUCT mention as the idea is killer and the price is right , cheap insurance for that expensive stuff if you plan to travel to places where rip-offs are the norm...
